Lacey Berry (b. 1988) is an abstract artist with a background in art and design. Characterized by a gestural style of mark-making, Lacey engages in a meditative dialogue with the canvas, translating her emotions and thoughts onto its surface. The artwork titles arrive as part of the meditation and serve as a journal for a specific moment in time.

“My art is an exploration of the balance between control and spontaneity. That tension is a driving force in my creative process. Often my artworks are inspired by people I know, and therefore become portraits of their spirit through the lens of my experience of them. I enjoy looking back at a finished work and seeing a reflection of someone where others would see a mosaic of color, line and texture.”
